Netflix’s To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is officially getting a sequel, which will reunite the original cast. The original movie debuted on Netflix in August of this year and it was an immediate hit, so Netflix’s announcement isn’t a huge shock. The teenage romance movie is based on a trilogy of novels by New York Times Bestselling Author Jenny Han, so we could end up seeing all three books in the trilogy get made for the streaming platform.

In addition to the Netflix announcement, star Lana Condor also revealed the news on social media, which has gotten fans hyped for the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before sequel. The sequel book was titled P.S. I Still Love You. She tagged her co-star Noah Centineo, who appears in the announcement video with Condor, and author Jenny Han in her post. Netflix then released a fitting announcement of their own, which you can read below.

“I miss you. I know it’s only been a few months and I swear I wasn’t trying to avoid you; I just didn’t know how to answer your question without lying to you. The truth isn’t always simple or straightforward – and as we know all too well, dating contracts have a way of quickly getting complicated. But, the letters are out… it’s true. A To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before sequel is coming to Netflix. And yes, you can seamlessly continue to run your Covinsky fan accounts because your dreamy stars Lana Condor and Noah Centineo are in on it too. So let’s do this. I promise the next chapter will be well worth the wait! Love, Netflix.”

A release date for the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before sequel has yet to be announced, but it should be revealed shortly. The sequel is being produced by Matt Kaplan and Dougie Cash for Awesomeness Films. Sofia Alvarez is returning to write the screenplay. It has also not been announced who will be directing the sequel at this time. Susan Johnson directed the first installment, but Netflix has not revealed if she will be returning for the highly anticipated sequel. It would seem that the streaming platform would like to utilize their winning crew again, so there might be some negotiations going on behind-the-scenes while the sequel is in development.

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before was a surprise hit for Netflix and it currently has a 94% Fresh Rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Jenny Han talked about the idea of a sequel back in August, revealing that she hopped that Netflix would want to make another one. It was later revealed in November that there were talks of the sequel happening, leading up to today’s big announcement. The second book is titled P.S. I Still Love you, but it has not been revealed as the title of the sequel at this time. The To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before sequel news comes to us from Netflix streaming.
